Learning curve

You’re hanging out with your dog, sharing Jin Shin Jyutsu. It is all going well. She starts to relax and appear dozy. She yawns and stretches. Suddenly, she jumps up and heads out. No, she didn’t hear a knock at the door or her food bowl being filled. Why did she leave?

You might find yourself questioning your abilities, wondering what you did wrong. Everything seemed to be going so well. The truth is that you did nothing wrong. Your dog just received all that she was ready for in that moment. Sometimes animals really feel the energy start to move and it’s a bit surprising. Don’t worry. They’ll be back for more. Maybe not right now, but certainly the next time you offer.

Remember that you are serving your animals with Jin Shin Jyutsu, not the other way around. It’s not their responsibility to make you feel confident. They will however give you clear signals as to what they like, don’t like, and when they’ve had enough.  Our animals are our best teachers. We can study, study, study the material, but until we put our hands on them, we’ll not really know the art.

It’s a learning curve when you’re learning to share Jin Shin Jyutsu with your pet. Relax. Take it step by step. Your pet will thank you!
