Treating from afar

What is remote or distance Jin Shin Jyutsu?

When a person or pet receives a Jin Shin Jyutsu treatment often times it is in person. I arrive at the barn or home to treat the pet, or the individual comes to my office. Clothes are left on with the exception of shoes (in the case of humans of course) and light touch is applied to the body in specific locations with both hands. Where the touch is utilized depends on what the pet or person’s needs are. Sessions are usually 50 minutes in the case of people and can vary by animal. Pets usually move away when they’re finished, though sometimes they return for further work.

Remote or distance Jin Shin Jyutsu sessions are much the same except that we are not in the same location together. We talk for a few minutes before we begin and you find a comfortable place to lie without distraction. In the case of animals, owners make sure they’re also in a conducive location such as their bed, couch or stall without a lot of activity around them. Some pets prefer having their friends around, which is perfectly fine.

What am I doing? I sit quietly at my massage table with you or your pet in mind. I meditate to make contact with you or your pet in your location. The military calls this “remote viewing” and has studied and utilized this technique for years. Remote viewing is defined as the learned ability to transcend time and space. I call it focused concentration. It is basically what I do as sit quietly with you in an in-person session, except we’re not close to each other.

I then apply my light touch to spark the energy system as if you or your pet are with me. I can feel the energy pulsations change and balance. I can feel the energetic textures and rhythms of the body. I can “hear” what is being requested next. For me, it doesn’t feel that dissimilar to working in person.

Clients report observing their pets relax, calm, stretch and show other signs of energetic release. Individuals note that the session feels very similar to working in person, with the exception of the drive there and home. Since covid, many of my in person clients now prefer this method of working.

I’ve worked with human clients as far away as Australia, California, New York, and St. Petersburg, Russia. The descriptions from them have been the same. Positive, restful, relaxed, and an ease of symptoms. People who don’t have Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioners nearby now have the opportunity to receive.

Do I prefer in person or remote? I enjoy them both. With remote I miss seeing the person’s smiling face after the session and the cuddles of the animals. I do love knowing that I can help people and pets around the globe so that makes up for it. Thank goodness I get to do a mix of both!
