Sent by the Angels

I’ve decided that the people who suffer the most from cancer treatment are those diagnosed with cancer of the mouth and neck area. The treatments make it difficult to eat, swallow, and talk and the pain is tremendous. I can go into more detail, but just trust me. From what I saw during my work at the cancer center, this type of cancer really compromised quality of life on a grand scale.

One of my first patients with cancer of the throat was back when I was still a volunteer in the chemotherapy clinic. The woman had been receiving daily radiation and that day she was also having chemotherapy. She was in tremendous pain and asked if there was anything I might do. “I feel like my throat is on fire.” she said. 

I remembered discussions in my classes about the 5 element theory of air, fire, water, earth, and wood or chi. I decided that what was needed was to put some water on the fire.  I placed one hand close to her neck without touching and the other on the ankle of the same side of the body, which is the first step of a flow with the element of water at its core.  Within minutes she began to feel relief. “It’s cooling down and doesn’t hurt nearly as much.” She began to rest and relax.

When the treatment ended, she looked at me, and with tears of happiness in her eyes said, “ Who are you? You must have been sent by the angels.” 

Maybe I was sent by the angels. I think we have energetic forces that are around us always. That day, however, I was also guided by Jin Shin Jyutsu principals.
